Date of Sighting: July 17, 2011
Location of Sighting: Hamden, Connecticut
Number of UFO(s), including the Color(s), Size(s) and Shape(s): Single, quite large, generally rectangular/cigar shaped, seamless, silver craft which did not appear to be very aerodynamic.
Distance of UFO(s) in sky: Appeared to be at an altitude of about 1.5 miles, 35° above western sky
Direction of Travel for UFO(s): Craft moved northward from New Haven direction and stopped over approximate area North of Route 15 and West of Route 10.
Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): Very large silver craft was seen from the Town’s public music grounds. At first it appeared to be the nose of a jet coming into view.
But seeing more the shape then sharply flared wide, upward and downward, rounding off to what was a straight, parallel top and bottom. It seemed long and large. No wings. No windows.
The trailing end of the craft mirrored the beginning, as so did the bottom half seem to mirror the top – the shapes and angles were symmetrical.
Forward progress came to a stop not long after it was fully visible. It appeared to hover.
Further Description of Sighting: After a short while trying to make sense of what had become apparent in the mid-afternoon, clear blue, July sky and making mental note of the sight (maybe 15-20 seconds)the craft started becoming brighter and brighter.
The top began emitting a bright light. The brightness, intensity and glow grew and grew to the point where it was difficult to continue watching – and it vanished – completely. Gone without a sound or a trace of any kind.
