Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; Summer, 1972

Name: Ron Freund, M.D.

Date of Event: summer, 1972 or 1973

Location of Event: Ottawa, Canada

Message: A friend of mine and I went to Ottawa for a weekend of looking for Canadian girls.  We ended up without any the first night, sleeping in my car on the side of the road.  A Canadian trooper woke us up at 4 AM to check us out, then left.  We sat in the car, eating some bread we had when we saw it. The terrain was flat with a distant mountain range.  A slowly moving disc-shaped object was coming across a large field toward us.

It stopped and hovered around fifty feet above the highway and two hundred feet in front.  The thing was probably 75 to 100 feet across, with moving lights around the perimeter, completely soundless.  If only my camera had been along.  It stayed in place for 5 to 10 minutes, then gradually moved away, diagonally upward toward the mountain range, then rapidly sped away and, when it was just a light in the sky, made a sharp 90 degree turn to the left and sped out of sight, completely soundless.

We just sat there, speechless the whole time. Later that morning around 6 AM when the radio stations began broadcasting, they were reporting hundreds of sightings down the whole Eastern seaboard from Canada down through Maine and New England.  The official Air Force explanation reported later that day was “luminous gas from a factory”. I know what we saw that morning, and there is no doubt in my mind regarding these other reported sightings.

Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia; March, 1972

Name: Kenneth T. Conner

Date: March, 1972; 11:30PM

Location: Warrnambool,Victoria, Aust.

Message: I was walking after preparing for my teaching the next morning. Very clear, quiet night. I saw two lights which appeared to be following the coast.

I thought it strange they were so low as the nearest airport was nearly 11 miles away. It then dawned on me that there was no sound. I stopped and began to watch carefully.

One shape suddenly lifted in a tilted manner, moved to the left and was above the other for perhaps 10-15 sec. It then returned to its pattern and they continued on following the coast.

As they were nearly past me, the thing that remains the most vivid is the sound of wailing dogs in the night. The sound of the dogs followed them till they were out of sight.

The size and shape were nothing of note. Whitish light and round to oval in shape. When the one shape tilted up I could see very clearly that it was a single form.

I had nothing to relate the shapes to, scale-wise. Thank You. This has been with me for many years and I’ve kept this to myself. Writing the above reminds me just how vivid this is in my memory.

Kenneth T. Conner

PS: I told nobody of this except a very old neighbor of mine. She went to her bedroom and brought out a scrapbook of sightings in the “Western District” of Victoria, Australia that went back 40 or more years.
