Further Description of Sighting: I was sitting on a friend’s deck in SE Calgary, looking north. There were some birds in the sky, but one looked like it wasn’t moving. It was way off in the distance, and as I watched, it moved slowly and slightly down (towards the ground) and west. It looked a bit strange, so I kept watching for a second, and suddenly it disappeared right before my eyes!

Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): 2 planes were in the sky with flashing lights.

Further Description of Sighting: My husband and I were observing a very bright light in the sky. It did not travel across the sky.It suddenly moved upwards towards the other stars that are further away from earth. The bright light diminished in size as it travelled further and further away. This was very quick. It looked like the bright light was deliberatly moving away from earth towards the other stars. It eventually was too far away to see.

Name: Roxy

Date of Sighting: July 17, 2009

Location of Sighting: Edmonton, AB, Canada

Shape(s) of Object(s) (If Known): Too far to tell.

Color(s) of Object(s) (If Known): White when stationary, and flickered colors when in motion

Distance of Object(s) in sky (If Known): Very far, extremely high up

Further Description of Sighting: On July 1st I saw 2 dots of light in the distance around 11pm in the evening moving at high speeds across the sky and coming to abrupt stops. I only observed them for around 15 minutes.

This morning at 3:30am I went to let my dog outside and when I looked up to the sky (north east)I noticed a dot of light moving across the sky too fast and too high up to be an airplane….

I didn’t see cylinders, fireballs, a saucer, or a sphere. It looked like a star in the distance and would suddenly start to travel at a high speed, then slow down into erratic maneuvers, and eventually coming to stop. Then again resuming in a straight line at a high speed and suddenly making a sharp turn… Once it got further up in the sky it did a 3 point triangular pattern, went backwards, zig zagged, sharp turn left and down and back up again a few times… It even did circular and oval maneuvers. It stopped often but seemed to be getting further away and higher in the sky.

When it would be stationary the light seemed to resembled a still source of white light, but when resuming motion it would flicker colors at a rate a bit more than the twinkle of the stars. The flicker rate was never the same, sometimes faster, sometimes slower.

It glided across the sky like a mouse cursor. I didn’t have a camera and it was 4am, so I went to bed.
