Message: I was on my way back to Calais from Houlton driving south on route one at approximately 1:40 am. I had a close encounter with a bull moose that crossed the road in front of me. Shaken from the encounter I pulled to the shoulder and stopped my truck. I was stopped for not quite 2 minutes when something with a bright silverish colored flashing light shining out the bottom of it came into view from above the trees to my right. I watched and the thing seem to be barely above the treetops. It moved slowly from my right traveling to my left. It was maybe 10 to 12 feet long.

The object appeared to be a darkish color but had an appearance of a bluish halo aound the top of it. I would call it a oblong circular object of some type. Definately not a airplane or helicopter. After it has past over the tree tops to my left, it appeared to have landed on the ground but I can’t be sure of that. Suddenly there was a flash of silverish / bluish light and I was able to see the object again. This time traveling from my left and heading southward in the sky.

I started my truck and followed it for about 2 minutes down route one, it was less than 500 feet upwards from the road. Finally I lost sight of it when it suddenly went left over the trees. There was a whirring sound along with a foul smell like alcohol or eather, you know the smell like inside a hospital. I didn’t tell anyone of this, they would think I’m nuts. I was wondering if anyone else may have seen the same thing that I did that night.
