I live in Retford, N orth Nottinghamshire. I can’t believe other people have seen orange balls of light in the night sky. I have witnessed orange lights on three occasions over Retford in the space of a few months. On October 31st 2009 my wife and i spotted two hovering over the town centre. They were quite a way up in the sky but clearly visible. It was approx 6.15pm. We had just left a restuarant on North Road. We got in the car and started to drive towards the town centre. As we watched, the two objects seemed to fade out and vanish from sight!  I am not sure if they did fade or if they climbed rapidly but in any case within seconds they had gone. We live very close to Robin Hood and Gamston airports and see tons of aircraft in the night skies all the time. What we saw that night was not conventional aircraft. On two other occasions i have seen just a single orange object which behaved in a very similar way. One  of them on 5th November 2009 at approx 8.30pm. The qustion is, what the hell are they?
