Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, USA; September 19, 2009

Name: Steve Petruska

Date of Sighting (and time if known): September 19, 2009 7:50pm

Location of Sighting: Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, USA

Shape(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): Bright white ball, brightest object in the cloudless, moonless sky. Had a large brightly illuminated, sharply shaped inverted “V” trail of white smoke or gas that seemed to stand still. There were absolutely no clouds in the sky at the time.

Size(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): The glowing ball appeared many times brighter and at least twice the size of Jupiter (or Saturn) which was visable to the left of the object in the southeast region of the sky.

Color(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): Bright, bright white.

Number of UFO(s) (If Known): 1

Distance of UFO(s) in sky (If Known): Not close, but distance unknown.

Direction of Travel for UFO(s) (If Known): Seemed to move slowly staight up.

Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): Closest thing I could relate it to is a rocket being launched. But the huge upside-down “V” trail of illuminated gas would have been way to big, I think.

Further Description of Sighting: It was beautiful, lasted maybe 20 seconds and then it was gone. Then the faint stars behind the gas trail could be seen right away. What happened to that huge cloud of gas so fast? It was just gone. Did anybody else see this in the south sky in New Jersey on Saturday, Sept. 19th, at about 7:50pm?
Let me know.
