Message: we just saw these lights tonight from the balcony in Myrtle Beach so I had to search this. First saw them in pairs and then accross the sky in a straight line. This went on for about an hour. Started as two lights each then the straight line was 6 or 7 accross. Curious what all these lights were.

I was on vacation with my friends and we saw this from a hotel on Ocean Blvd that had karaoke on the beach. We were looking out into the sky because it was odd that a plane was flying so low over the hotel and that the same place kept circling over & over again. While watching the plane, we saw the lights in the sky hovering over the ocean.

Saw this stuff Wednesday night….stayed at Comfort Inn South ocean Blvd. A C-130 must have been doing touch and go’s at MB Intl Airport……..but even a few private aircraft would pass by and the lights would do their thing. I was on the 3’rd floor..and about 45 degrees into the sky were these strange lights…..nothing from a ship….even though the hotel manager said a ship went down weeks before.Theses lights moved in synch…side to side, and even seemed to play leap frog at one time. Have a cousin who is a FED agent…….thought I was joking or had 1 to many beers……sent me a text message with hokey alien pics…..so glad all of you seen it too……..I don’t feel so whacked out now.

From our balcony in North Myrtle Beach this evening we first saw one red light that we first mistook for an airplane. It appeared again in a different place not like an airplane moves. About 20 minutes later we saw the red light again and then there were two red lights and then a few more, maybe for a total of five. The lights disappeared quickly. August 3, 2009, 9 – 10:15

My family and neighbors have witnessed these lights over the ocean for the last 4-5 nights.  They are too low to planes and too high to be boats.  They appear out of nowhere and then disappear.  The first night we saw two of them.  They were red and then went out.  Another night they started out white then turned red and formed a perfect square and then went out.  Two nights ago they were in a perfectly straight line and they would go on and off.  As one went off another one came on.  This time they did it a few times.  Every night it happened between 9:00 and 10:00 pm and always in the same general location.  We also saw Air force jets flying around repeatedly the other night about 15 minutes after the lights went out.

Thursday night 8/6 around 9:00 or so, my daughter and I walked the beach just south of the Apache Pier. We saw what we assumed was an airplane coming up from the southeast ocean fairly low on the horizon it got closer, moving north for a while, then turned and flew south, appearing to proceed west over the island, looking like it was landing. Odd behavior but nothing about it suggested it was anything other than an airplane, and I’m sure that’s what it was.  A few minutes later, my duaghter said, “hey what are those lights?” and pointed up high to the right of the moon. There were three gold lights in a triangle formation (might have had a red tint to them at the bottoms — I thought I saw a reddish hue, my daughter did not). They hung in the air — no associated noise — then winked out in sequence. We never saw them fly into position or fly away. The three lights turned on and then they turned off. Breathtaking and bizarre. I’ve never remotely seen anything like it. If they were military jets, they were maneuvering in a 3-point formation in the dark, flashing their lights in sequence to confirm position. What’s weird about that theory is that there was no noise and they didn’t seem to be moving. I’ve seen video on the ‘net and on TV where unexplained lights seemed very glowy and amorphous. These looked tight and well-defined. Almost like stars. (But way too bright/close to be stars. Besides, stars don’t appear and disappear in a matter of seconds.)  Didn’t stick around to see if any airplanes would come back. Hope people will continue to post reports/theorize here.

Sorry, been watching LOST too much. No “island” obviously. I meant “beach.” The plane seemed to come inland at the southern end of the beach.
(and sorry about the inadverdent double post above)

My husband and I both witnessed lights in the sky while vacationing in Garden City, MB. We saw the lights in the sky around 9:15pm on Thursday, August 6th. They appeared as 3 separate lights, yellow in color, in a trangular pattern. They came on one at a time and went off one at a time in the same order they went on. We watched the sky to see if they would move but they did not. They were too high in the sky to be from a boat, and did not resemble any aircraft that we had ever seen. We are truly baffled by what we saw that night.

Yep, we saw at least 25 strange, dimly lit, UFOs over Ocean Bay Club in N. Myrtle Beach two nights ago (26th of august).  Almost all of them moving north to south at about 10 times the speed of any known aircraft.  A few were traveling east to west.  They appeared almost like a meteor shower, randomly for a half hour or so.  I just watched a meteor shower with my girlfriend earlier this month and we agree that this was not similar.  The objects would often zig or zag a bit and they moved at a speed slower than any comet or meteor that I’ve seen.  We did not see, however, the light formation that several others saw in the same area.  We were laying down looking strait up for the most part. After we stood up we saw a blimp shaped red light to the south appear and disappear twice quickly.  We walked down the beach to find someone flying a kite and another group tossing a red LED frisbee.  Debunked… Maybe, but after seeing so many strange objects heading that direction I have to wonder.

I just watched a similar ‘air show’ over the ocean from my balcony (September 19) about 10 at night. It started with a couple of orange lights close to shore, and followed with numerous combinations and patterns. At one point it was like seven or eight craft at various distances from shore were singaling each other and all their lights came on at once. Sometimes lights seemed to jump out of other lights and line up. In all cases the lights only stayed on for about three seconds. This went on for about 30 minutes. I pointed this out to others walking the beach, but they seemed uninterested.

My older brother came back from camping at the beach about 4 years ago telling me that he saw a UFO over the ocean while sitting on the beach at night with my Dad and Sister-in-law. I don’t think my brother or Dad would lie, but figured what they saw was probably a ship or something. Uhmmmmmmm…. I just returned from camping at PirateLand in Myrtle Beach with my family, and my brother’s family also, and last night which would be the 16th we walked to the pier from the campground around 10:00pm and on the way back my brother started shouting LOOK LOOK its the lights I was telling you about, and sure enough just like everyone is saying it was orange balls of light that would light up in a straight line. Each one would disappear as the next lit up, I counted six in a row total. We watched this for a few minutes and it seemed to be over then someone yelled look a shooting star, only this star started right where we were seeing the lights and went completely over our heads to the opposite horizon and disappeared. I have never seen a shooting star last that long. And also as everyone has mentioned we saw two blinking lights that seemed very far away that we figured out were military jets because of their sound, right after we saw the lights. I would love to know if maybe the military was testing something, because if not, someone should definitely check into this.

i’ve seen this the last 2 nights in Topsail, NC.   Saw an orange orb under the moon over the ocean, too bright and close to be a star, it then disappeared.  2min. later 2 showed up to the left and disappeared.  Tonight,  I was looking out again, and saw one bright orange light again and disappeared.  20 seconds later, closer to the ocean, it reappeared , and four of five lit up in a line and disappeared again, the sky goes blank again.   this is in the moonlight so you can definitely see them diappear and reappear.  Very wierd, however we are near Camp Lejeune.

October 5 around 9:00 pm I saw the same thing the rest of you guys were describing.  I saw three bright orange lights in a triangle pattern.  Then it was as if they turned their lights off.  Ten minutes later, one appeared and then disappeared.  I am staying at Lakewood campground.  Very interesting. It was not an airplane.

Last night i was in north myrtle traveling from cherry grove pier down to ocena drive. me and my daughter both saw 3 orange orbs/lights…i thought it was military planes over ocena because they looked be in a line formation of sorts….as i glanced at road and glanced back i saw one gone…then looked back and the 2nd and then 3rd disappeared….after finding this blog its good to know others have seen the same lights in the past…my daughter said she had seen same thing 5 years earlier but no one else did with her so she dismissed it.

I saw these lights back in October of 2004 while on a fishing trip down on the Outer Banks of NC.  I reported them to the National UFO Reporting Center run by Petter Davenport.  I later made an animated video of what I saw and posted it on youtube.  All I have learned about the lights is that they are mostly seen around the Myrtle Beach area.  They have been seen from now all the way back to 2002 and maybe further back but that is the furtherest back date I’ve seen posted on any website.  I’ve seen maybe 75 differeent reports of them.  It seems that they are seen more around a full moon but that may only be because there is more people outside around that time.  I know I plan my fishing trips around a full moon most the time.  I’ve never seen a report of them outside of the area between Myrtle Beach up to where I saw them in Avon, NC and never inland.   From all the reports that I have seen, I think that I may have been closer to them than most of the other people who have seen them.   The detail of what was actually happening was amazing.  I see know way of even duplicating it except with laser light but there was nothing to shine  a laser on.  It was a clear night.  They appeared to me as a solid circle of red light about a third the size of a full moon.  No glare to them at all like a light on a jet would have.  One of the reasons I made the animation was that it is hard to discribe what I saw.  If you would like to see my video, look up “UfO – Red lights seen on the Outer Banks of  NC” on Youtube or try this link.

Last night, 4/20/10 I saw 3 dark orange/red lights equadistant in a perfect row up high over the ocean off Sunset Beach, NC.  They came on one at a time, stayed on several seconds, went out, did the same thing again, went out, and then all 3 came on at once and went out.  I waited.  After that only one came on from time to time, staying on a few seconds and then going out.  It was as if a light switch was flipping them on and then off each time.  They were stationary and didn’t move for the first 20 minutes or so while going off several minutes and coming back on  a minute or less.  Then the one that had been coming on, began to appear in different positions as if it was flying in a straight line.  Then it disappeared for the evening.  There was no sound.  They could not have been meteors because they stayed stationary for so long.  They were too high in the sky to be from any boats.  They were equal distance from each other but too far apart to be a plane.  Since there was no sound, they couldn’t have been helicopters.   I guess they were at about a 45 degree angle from the beach.  If someone else was telling me this I could dream up lots of explanations.  But seeing it live for myself, it did not seem like a man made or any natural phenomenon I’ve heard of.  When I emailed all my friends, one wrote me back that she saw them also from Little River, SC at the same time.  That made both of us feel better.  I offer no explanation or theories.  I’ll keep my theories to myself for obvious reasons.  LOL.
