Date of Sighting: Early Summer 1984

Location of Sighting: Near Clarksbug, Indiana

Shape(s) of UFO(s): Rectangular Prisim

Size(s) of UFO(s): 3 x train box car

Color(s) of UFO(s): dark brown/black

Number of UFO(s): 1-3

Distance of UFO(s) in sky: 400ft

Direction of Travel for UFO(s): NE to SW

Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): High Tension Power Lines

Further Description of Sighting: Stormy night. Could only see object during lighting flashes. No noise, no lights. Appeared to have exterior texture of piping and panels. Not nearly as elaborate as a “Borg” ship. More like 1-3 railroad boxcars. Like multiple objects of same sized attached together moving as one unit. Very large and seemed to take up the space of a boxcar if I was 5 feet away. The scale was difficult to make out as I was not sure how high above the power lines this object was. Slow and steady movement. Object continued to move in same direction until no longer visible in the rain/low clouds.

Message: Hello- I’m so glad to find your website. I am interested to know if you have records of UFO sightings in Crown Point, Indiana or in Lake County, Indiana ( northwest)back in 1967. My husband and I were involved in a sighting back in those days and I have always wondered if there were any others that reported sightings from then, also.

We were very young and didn’t know about UFO investigations and were very shocked by our experience, also, especially since we had our new baby in a car bed in the back seat of our car. I would be very appreciative to hear if anyone else has anything to say about that time frame and area. Many thanks

Message: 11:00pm July 6th 2008 in New Albany Indiana me and my kids along with my nephew and GF saw the similar thing. It all started in the same kind of fashion. I as well was being entertained with the neighbors fireworks, when all of the sudden what appeared to be a plane on fire was in the sky in front of me. the reason I say on fire was because of the unusual orange lights. Since I’ve never seen anything like it I immediately thought of fire. It appeared that the front right engine was on fire because of the concentration of light on that area.

The lights were very bright but thats when things got strange. One why would lights on a plane if not fire be pointing upword more than down. Two at that point it was moving so slowly just a straight path no funny movements but I’m still thinking plane on fire . Then I realized NO NOISE which would mean the plane should be coming down (no sound = no engine). But in fact it stayed at the same highth the whole time. I told my nephew to go get everybody else they had to see this.

The “plane” was directly above us at this time. still no noise. But maintained an altitude of what I assumed even using a single engine plane for reference of about 10-15,000ft. My GF was amaized at what she saw, normally being the skeptical one, so much so that she didn’t want it to scare the children so she took them inside. once the “plane” was past it just all of the sudden disappeared…

Now I know it was nothing that I have or will ever see again knowing that it wasn’t identifiable by me. After it disappeared I actually hopped on my Motorcycle and went to the Clark County Airport expecting to see some type of search plane which is normally done in a single engine plane crash but they acted like they saw nothing. At this point my mind even though I’m open to anything still didn’t or couldn’t wrap around seeing a UFO.

Message: The other day I noticed this movie, Phoenix Lights, at blockbuster and was compelled to watch it ASAP. It was strange- I rented it as soon as I got a chance, invited a friend and we watched it together. My friend kept laughing during the film, I don’t think he took it too seriously but at the same time he does believe in the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

That night there were July 4th fireworks (the date was July 6th though). Many people gathered around my subdivision, tons of cars, music, games… We sat on the grass right in front of the fireworks and watched them for about half an hour. As they ended, me and my boyfriend got up and started getting ready to leave.. Now, I asked him earlier that day to bring binoculars- after the movie, I felt I’d like to watch the starts later that night to see if I notice anything odd just for the fun of it… So people start trying to get out of the subdivision with all those cars.. everybody’s wrapping up their towels and folding their chairs, but I look up ..and right at the site where the fireworks were..there’s these 3 orange lights… Right away, they resembled the lights in the movie, but smaller. They were definitely bigger than any stars on the sky and bright orange. I later noticed a 4th one below between the trees.

I would assume that I am making this up, or even WANTING to see them after watching the Phoenix Lights movie… BUT my boyfriend standing next to me did not see the movie and he was shocked at the sight as well. He saw 5 lights however, I’m not sure where the 5th one was- probably among the other trees. In this way, maybe the figure was different.

But here is how it looked to me: the 4 lights were in a row pointing to to the upper right. I grabbed my binoculars and my boyfriend was trying to take a picture with his camera phone (which of course did not work well) and saw that they were simply oval orange (amber?) lights…just stationary in the dark sky, not moving a bit and not twinkling…No sound. I put my binoculars down and looked around at people- NOBODY paid ANY attention trying to get to their cars and go home… Some did pay attention but merely concluded that they were part of the fireworks.

Anyway, then it got a bit more odd. One of them moved (or several of them, or as my bf says, one disappeared and reappeared in a different spot) and in the end, the lights formed something like a wide triangle! Plus the forth lowest light was still there on the left (as if not part of the formation -in MY opinion_. My bf said it looked like a Z (look at the picture on the bottom).

Then, if you would view the triangle as a whole object…it started to TURN with it’s end (the 2nd light from the top) moving to the right. I could not believe it! Later, my boyfriend told me he didn’t see it turn at all… but, as he showed me the video he made with his phone (which is terrible quality, naturally) – I hear myself saying during the video: Oh my God, they are MOVING! It’s turning!” So while the turning took place, he was actually looking at the screen of his phone trying to catch the lights- that is why, in my opinion, he did not actually notice the turn as his attention was focused on the phone screen.

Then… just like the Phoenix Movie described… the lights started to disappear. One by one- top first, then the other end of the triangle (3rd from top) and then the middle light (and I watched this one carefully through my binoculars anticipating it to fade away just like in the movie…. And it did).

I don’t know when the lower light disappeared, I didn’t pay attention but it wasn’t there. I wouldn’t believe just my own eyes, especially after being influenced by the film… but my boyfriend was there and said it had NOTHING to do with the fireworks or planes… the lights just hanged in there, then changed positions very slowly and eventually disappeared one by one……………………….

Also, my other friend (who I watched the movie with) saw them- thought they were strange..only saw 2.. and decided it was somehow connected to the fireworks. Overall, I think the lights stayed there for about 3 minutes. (they disappeared one by one about 5-10 seconds apart). I later asked the older lady i live with, and she said she saw them too. They looked STRANGE to her but she associated them with the fireworks…

Either way, it was utterly strange and unexplainable. He can’t tell me what it was, he says- after watching the Phoenix lights- that it’s VERY similar to those and looked non-natural or human-made…

Message: At 11:20pm tonight I was standing in my backyard and saw a bright white light suddenly appear in the Southern sky at approximately 55 or 60 degrees to the horizon line. The light was as bright as a white flair and moved very slowly to the right for approximately 10 – 15 seconds then the brightness diminished and the light “faded” out and I couldn’t see it any longer. The light was not a shooting star, it moved too slowly and was brighter than anything else in the sky. I was not lightening or ball lightening. There is not a cloud in the sky tonight and the moon is not out.

There are lots of stars out and this was in no way similar to any star in the sky. It did not have a tail or trail, and did not blink or make any noise. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life. I have seen comets, shooting stars, eclipse of the moon, shuttle launches, and am familiar with star formations. I am 48 and witnessed this with my son who is 24. We both saw the same thing and neither of us can explain just what it was that we saw.

Message: On the evening of 6/21/08 my son and I were in the car driving on the southeast side of Indianapolis. We were approaching a stop sign (heading north) when I noticed a horizontal row of 11 bright yellow-orangish colored lights stretched across the sky. Three of the lights were out of the line lagging a bit behind. They seemed to be just hovering, and a tower is the first thing that came to mind, but they were at a slight angle, so I knew it wasn’t a tower. There is no way it was planes, or stars either. They were way too bright, and they were flashing off and on intermittently. My son went to get his cell phone out to take a picture and realized he had left it where we were coming from, so I went to turn the car around to go back and get the cell phone. In that short of time, about 5 of the lights had disappeared, and the others had scattered about.

I then decided to go and park to watch the rest of them and to see where they would go. They were alot closer to us now. One came directly above our car, although very high up into the sky. We watched it float straight up higher and higher until it disappeared. We then saw 3 more of the lights appear above the horizon between a couple of houses. We watched them float toward our direction (east). One of them was further ahead of the other 2 and came toward us (east) and then angled off (toward the north) and then floated upwards into the sky until it disappeared. The other 2 were still moving in our direction but didn’t come out as far. They began to float higher and higher straight up into the sky and then disappeared in the exact same spot, one right after the other. We could not see anymore of the lights.

I do not believe in aliens or ufo’s, but this was absolutely nothing I have ever seen before. I have tried to explain it away in every way possible, and could not come up with anything that makes any sense. I thought maybe fireworks caused it, but there is no way a firework is going to float out that far and that high up into the sky. I could not tell if they were giving off any sound either. I could only hear my car running. This was the freakiest thing I have ever seen.

This was not out in the middle of nowhere. It was by a freeway, and neighborhoods. Surely someone else besides my son and I saw this. I have watched the news, looked in today’s paper and have not seen anything about it. I am too embarrassed to call and ask if something had been reported. I know I sound crazy, but I know what I saw! These lights were like glowing, almost fiery. Very strange. I really hope someone will be able to confirm what we saw.

Message: I have never been a firm believer of UFO’s until the past few months.  My cousin and I have been documenting as best as we can various unidentified objects in the sky – they are mostly present in our area from as early as 9:00 p.m. until as late as 11:30 p.m.  These objects can only of course be seen on clear nights, when the stars are out – which in the beginning causing us to be skeptical of what we were actually seeing.  We have video footage of some amazing things these objects were doing, such as:  changing forms, colors, movement, and size.  I thought we were going crazy, but now our whole families have seen them, and the kids are scared to death.

When we first spotted the object – there was only one, until recently.  Tonight (4/16/09) at approximately 9:00 p.m. or so we noticed two bright changing lights (one in the east and one southwest)at two different locations.  My 16 year old daughter called our cousin and told her what we were seeing while standing on our back porch.  We continued looking at them with the “naked” eye, then through binoculars, then tried capturing pictures with a digital camera (they never show up on the digital cameras for us) then she arrived and recorded them.  What a sight – the objects changed shapes, sizes, colors, zoomed in and out, bounced all over the place.  We have never heard any sounds coming from them.

After viewing them on the back porch, we decided to drive to the country, away from city lights and observe again with the digital camera, binoculars and video recorder.  We Are Not Insane, however most might think so.  I am now a definite believer that we are being observed ourselves.  I also encountered the “sonic boom” and the various objects illuminating from “it”.    These sightings are real, and interesting, but we do get laughed at and are thought to be nuts.  Our “group” consists of 12 people in the family and friends that have shared our experiences with.  We do not know how to report this without being put off – or lied to – or even being called liars ourselves.  We need help as to what to do, we would like to share all that we have regarding these sightings to people that will take us seriously.
